Prof. Dr. Sameer Sood, Director, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Gandhinagar visited the Central Office of Brands and Sourcing Leaders (BSL) Association and met the top management team of BSL as well as Fab India, Triburg, Alliders and AI Glocal.

The BSL consists of top executives from both domestic and international apparel and textile brands. Notably, BSL is the exclusive organization that unites leaders from both global and local brands on a single platform. Their diverse membership includes representatives from over 350 renowned brands and sourcing offices, such as Marks & Spencer, ZARA, H&M, Aditya Birla, Arvind Fashion, Triburg, Newtimes, PDS Group, Spykar, Nike, Adidas, French Connection UK, Li&Fung, Next, Bestsellers, Myntra, GAP, Macy's, Target, Jockey, Landmark, Nykaa, Fab India and many more.

During the visit, Prof. Dr. Sameer Sood, Director NIFT Gandhinagar, had a productive meeting with the top management team of BSL, Fab India and Triburg. Discussion on strategies to boost India's handloom and handicrafts sector, focusing on areas such as skill development, global market research, infrastructure enhancement, marketing, IP protection, exports, international collaborations, sustainability, government support, and quality control were held. The focus of the discussion was to elevate this sector to a global stage, aligning with the Honorable PM's five F vision for the textile industry.

Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Sameer Sood, Director NIFT and the BSL and Fab India team present in the meeting explored the possibilities of fostering collaboration between NIFT students, alumni, and Fab India. The goal is to generate innovative designs that resonate with marketable current fashion trends. The conversations were also centered on formalizing internships, craft research documentation, and initiating craft-focused design projects with Fab India. This endeavour seeks to bring advantages not just to students of NIFT and the organization but also to the holistic development of India's handloom and handicrafts sector.

At the end, Prof. Dr. Sameer Sood, Director, NIFT Gandhinagar was felicitated by Founder and National General Secretary (BSL), Mr. Raman Dutta and top management team of Triburg, Fab India with the BSL Globe trophy.
