Central Bureau of Communication’s various Field offices in Maharashtra and Goa to answer Prime Minister’s Clarion call of Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath

As a run up to Gandhi Jayanti, a unique call to action has been given by the Prime Minister to fellow citizens. On the 105th episode of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, appealed for 1 hour of shramdaan for swachhata at 10 am on 1st Oct by all citizens collectively which will be a ‘swachhanjali’ to Bapu on the eve of his Jayanti. This mega cleanliness drive is part of the Swachhata Pakhwada- Swachhata Hi Seva 2023, being observed from 15th Sept till 2nd Oct.
This mega cleanliness drive calls upon citizens from all walks of life to join in actual cleaning activities of public places like market spaces, railway tracks water bodies tourist locations, religious places etc. Every town, Gram Panchayat, all sectors of the Government like civil aviation, railways, information & technology etc, public institutions will be facilitating cleanliness events led by the citizens. NGO/ RWA/ Pvt. organization etc. interested in organizing cleaning events can also apply online on the portal to the ULB/ District Administration. The cleanliness events will be available for public information on a specially-architectured IT platform Swachhata Hi Seva – Citizens Portal https://swachhatahiseva.com At the site of the cleanliness, citizens can click pictures and upload on the portal too. The portal also hosts a section inviting citizens, influencers to join the Andolan and lead the people’s movement by becoming Swachhata Ambassadors.
In order to give message of Cleanliness is next to godliness, the Central Bureau of Communication’s 7 offices in Maharashtra and Goa region will take part in cleanliness drive across the states of Maharashtra and Goa. Various field offices will join hands with schools, NGOs and private bodies to take initiative to clean water bodies, parks and river fronts. Installing permanent Dustbins, wall painting (Nashik & Goa), tree plantation (Nagpur) will also be part of the activities at some places. Let’s find more about each of those drives.
CBC Solapur is undertaking cleanliness drive to clean Naldurg Fort, in Tuljapur block of Dharashiv district. For this drive It has joined hands with State Archaeological Department , Mahila Arthik vikas Mahamandal, Municipal Council, Naldurg, Dharithri Vidhayalya and Unity Multicon Pvt Ltd. and will clean areas of Naldurg Fort on 1st October.
In the Same way CBC Aurangabad office will take cleanliness activities in Aurangabad caves situated in Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University premises. Sambhajinagar ploggers, NYKS, ,NSS Govt college of arts and science and ASI aurangabad will also be a part of this initiative.
Ahemadnagar Unit of CBC will take part in Swachchhta hi seva campaign by cleaning Dattasagar lake in Khadka village of Nevasa block in Ahmednagar district. Trimurti Paavan Pratishthan Education Trust will join hands with CBC Ahmednagar for this initiative.
Gandhi Sagar lake in Nagpur will see clean up activities undertaken by CBC Nagpur which will be joined by Lions Club and Sant Tukdoji Maharaj University.
Wardha field Unit of CBC wardha will clean the Dham riverfront on 1st october along with NCC battalion.
In Nashik Waldevi Dam area and areas in Mauje Pimpalad will be cleaned by CBC Nashik under this Swachchhta drive.
In Goa, Panaji field unit of CBC will clean up the La Campala garden in North Goa alongwith 1st Goa battalion of NCC
Swachhata Hi Seva has not only contributed to a cleaner environment but also fostered a sense of social responsibility among the masses. It has significantly, improved waste management practices. Moreover, it has generated awareness about the harmful effects of littering and pollution on public health, making people more conscious of their surroundings.
