72 representatives of Farmers Producers Organisation from Gujarat will witness the Independence Day Celebrations at Red Fort


Special guests from various walks of life invited to attend the Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi

Around 1,800 special guests from all over India will be attending the Independence Day Flag hoisting by the Prime Minister of India at the Red Fort on 15th August this year. Seventy-Two representatives of Farmers Producers Organisation from Gujarat will witness the Independence Day celebrations at the historic Red Fort, Delhi on August 15, 2023 as Special Guests. These beneficiaries of the scheme, along with their families, are among around 1,800 persons who have been invited to listen to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s address to the nation from the Red Fort. The initiative to invite the people from all walks of life, across India, and be a part of the celebrations has been taken by the Government in line with its vision of ‘Jan Bhagidari’.

As India completes 75 years of Independence this year, Sarpanches of Vibrant Villages, teachers,  nurses, farmers, fisherman,  shram yogis who helped build the Central Vista Project in New Delhi, Khadi sector workers, national award winning school teachers, Border Roads Organisation workers and those who helped and worked for the Amrit Sarovar Projects and Har Ghar Jal Yojana Projects,  implemented in various parts of the country,  have been invited along with their spouse to attend the Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi this year.

Umedji Thakor, a young farmer from Khari village in Patan district is clearly excited to receive an invitation to witness the historic ceremony and said, “It is due to the immense belief the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has shown in a small farmer like me, that I will be able to go and attend the celebrations at the Red Fort in New Delhi.” Thakor, who runs Rudramahalay Farmer Producer Company Limited in Siddhpur bloc is one of 72 farmer special guests from the State of Gujarat attending the Independence Day event this year.

 

Expressing similar sentiments, Shri Girishbhai Patel, a farmer from Sabarkantha district said that he was very happy to receive an invitation from the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to attend the celebrations at Red Fort in New Delhi. Patel who runs a FPO, Annadata Khet Utpadak Sahkari Mandali Limited further said that welfare schemes for the farmers like him have proved to be very beneficial.

 

Farmers Producers Organisation (FPO) provides support to small farmers with end-to-end services covering almost all aspects of cultivation from inputs, technical services to processing and marketing.
