National education policy helps inclusive learning and does away with the rote learning: D Ravi Damodar, Principal, Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kolhapur

National Education Policy 2020 aims to make learning enjoyable for all the students and aims for their all round development. It does away with rote learning and tries to impart experiential learning, said Principal of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya D. Ravi Damodar in Kolhapur today. He was interacting with media on the occasion of coming 3rd anniversary of national education policy 2020.

 

Shri D. Ravi Damodar further said that due to the National Education Policy the dropout rate among students has decreased and various components of the policy are ensuring inclusive learning for students. New initiatives are being undertaken through which students are learning international languages from sixth standard. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in  Kolhapur teaches German language from 6th standard and it has received great response from students for this initiative.

Shri D. Ravi Damodar, also gave information about the infrastructure facilities being provided to Divyang students under the National Education Policy which is helping them in cracking prestigious entrance examinations like NEET, JEE etc.

NEP provides for inclusive learning facilities in schools for Divyang students. This is made possible by making buildings accessible to all the students and arranging for special tutors. One such  Divyang student from Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kagal namely Onkar Sathe-Patil recently cracked the prestigious IIT entrance examination. He also received Bal Shree award conferred by the President of India on outstanding students.

 

The decision of government to align skill education with general education will help students in honing their skills. This will fulfil the existing skill demand of industries and lead to industrial growth and overall economic growth, said Sanjay Mali, Asst Commissioner of District Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance centre of Kolhapur.

A series of Press Conferences are taking place across the nation as a prelude to the third Anniversary of the National Education Policy 2020 on 29th July 2023. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the second Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam which is coinciding with the 3rd anniversary of National Education Policy 2020, on 29th July 2023 at ITPO, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The two-day event is being organised by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. The Prime Minister will be launching various initiatives on the occasion.
