Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation is celebrating Swachhta Pakhwada, 2023 during July 01, 2023 to July 15, 2023 under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The main focus of this campaign is to encourage Jan Bhagidari & awarness about the cleanliness. Regional office of Field Operations Division, NSSO, MoSPI, Ahmedabad is also celebrating this Pakhwada by promoting cleanliness. The special cleanliness awareness drive started with Two-wheeler rally from office premises located in Nava Vadaj to Safai Vidyalaya, Gandhi Ashram. Around 70 participants joined this rally.

Cleanliness Workshop in Toilet Garden and Toilet Cafe, Safai Vidyalaya: Cleanliness workshop was organised in Toilet Garden and Toilet Cafe located in Gandhi Ashram by Regional Office in association with Safai Vidyalaya on 15^th July 2023. The cleanliness workshop was inaugurated by Shri S K Bhanawat, Deputy Director General & Regional Head and Shri Jayesh bhai, Managing Trustee of Safai Vidyalaya. Shri Bhanawat highlighted the importance of hygienic practices for better health and sensitized the participants about it. Shri Jayesh bhai who is also a Member of High-Powered Committee of Swachch Bharat Abhiyan of the Government of India thanked NSSO for organising the Swachchata Pakhwada in their campus which is an epicentre of Swachch Bharat Abhiyan. Shri Ajitbhai Jadav, Trustee of Safai Vidyalay welcomed the participants. The event was coordinated by Ms. Priya of Safai Vidayalya.

NSSO donated Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine to Sabarmati Kanya Chhatralaya:  Smt. Varshaben, Principal of Vinay Mandir thanked Shri S K Bhanawat, Dy. Director General and NSSO for donating Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine in Sabarmati Kanya Chhatralaya and also for arranging the sponsor for refilling the Napkins and said that this noble initiative will surely help the girl students. Five saplings were also planted in Kanya Chhatralaya campus by the Trustee and senior officers of NSSO on this occasion. Smt. Bhavnaben, Rector of Kanya Chhatralaya was also present.

Cleanliness drive was also carried out in the premises of Vinay Mandir by the officials of the Regional office in association with staff and students. Around 150 participants comprising officials of FOD and school along with students participated in the drive with full vigour and enthusiasm. A rally was also organised in Sorabji Compound Area which has special significance for NSSO as it is a selected market for compilation of CPI(U).Various activities under Swachchata Pakhwada were also undertaken by the Sub-Regional offices located at Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Rajkot and Surendranagar on this day. These activities were carried out under the guidance of Shri S K Bhanawat, DDG & Regional Head and Shri A J Parmar, Assistant Director of the Regional office of FOD, NSSO, Ahmedabad.
