In Gurugram, India, Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) participated in the highly esteemed G20 Conference on Crime and Security in the Age of NFTs, AI, and the Metaverse, demonstrating their commitment towards strengthening cyber resilience and digital safety across the nation. Conference was held between July 13 and 14, 2023.

The Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, initiated a momentous event in the conference with the launch of the Cyber Volunteers Squad, an initiative championed by the students of RRU along with six other institutions. These cyber warriors are entrusted with the mission to fortify cyber awareness, combat harmful online content, and bolster our nation's cyber defences. This initiative underscores RRU's leadership in nurturing talent that can navigate the challenges of our digital age. 18 students from Rashtriya Raksha University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, have been chosen for this initiative, taking a significant step forward in the sphere of cybersecurity. These dedicated volunteers are on a mission to boost Cyber Awareness across our digital communities, combat harmful content, and fortify online safety.

Complementing this, the university also made its presence felt in the technological discourse at the conference. Col. Nidhish Bhatnagar, Director, School of Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Cyber Security at RRU, brought forward his expert insights during the session on "Securing Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) amidst an Unprecedented Scale of Digitization: Design, Architecture, Policies, and Preparedness". His expert commentary emphasised the pressing need to bolster our DPI's resilience in the face of rapid digitization.

The G20 conference was a venue for RRU to showcase its academic prowess and technological know-how. It was organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Col. Bhatnagar added that the Honourable Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah, visiting our displays and speaking with our representatives was truly a proud moment for RRU. This demonstrates how significantly RRU has advanced the field of cybersecurity.

As we continue to integrate our lives deeper into the digital realm, initiatives like the Cyber Volunteers Squad and insightful discussions on cybercrime and threats in today’s world, as well as the need to evolve policies, designs, architecture, and train the workforce, become increasingly crucial. These not only aid in protecting our digital spaces but also play a pivotal role in shaping the discourse on cybersecurity.

The School of Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Cyber Security of Rashtriya Raksha University offers an atmosphere for students to learn and carry out research. The well-thought-out curriculum requires the students to take up a broad spectrum of courses while simultaneously allowing them to emphasise desired areas of specialisation. The School aims to integrate education and research in order to cater to the complexities of the real world and provide solutions to the world’s challenges by building up the capacity and capability of generations to come.
