On this occasion, Textiles Minister Sh. Piyush Goyal told that seeing the all-round development of Surat, I have no doubt that it has been selected for PM MITRA PARK. In the short span of 9 years of Prime Minister Modi's government, today we are among the top 5 economies of the world. Because for all this the PM has his own thinking to go to the root of the problem and find a solution. Along with this, various policies and schemes have also been made for all these.

He further said that Gujarat is ahead in Export Index, Logistics, Good Governance and Ease of Doing Business. This PM MITRA PARK has been conceived keeping in mind quality, scale and sustainable textiles in the textile sector. With the coming of this park in Navsari, Gujarat, lakhs of people will get employment.

This mega park is being set up on 1142 acres of land at Vansi Village in Navsari District of Gujarat. The land parcel is under the possession of GIDC. This site is in near vicinity to the Surat Textiles Cluster. It is located at a distance of 55 kms from Surat. The park is at a distance of 55 kms from Surat airport, 66 kms from nearest port, Hazira, 19 kms from nearest railway station, Navsari. The park shall have excellent connectivity to Mumbai & Delhi via proposed route of Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC).

The Park will have common infrastructure like roads and parking, storm water drainage system, water supply system, sewage collection and treatment systems, power infrastructure, signage and landscaping and administration complex. It shall also have special infrastructure like Centre of Excellence, common processing facility, material handling facilities, steam generation plant and workers’ hostel & housing. Additionally, a deep-sea pipeline is proposed to discharge the treated effluents in deep sea which will help to achieve clean environment by minimizing the river and land pollution. Presence of these infrastructure facilities will help reduce the cost of manufacturing and support industries to achieve competitive pricing for national and global market.

The PM MITRA Park will create total employment for more than 3,00,000 people which will directly benefit the entire Gujarat. Moreover, it will increase the competitiveness of the Indian textile sector and attract the leading investors from across the world. The park is expecting investment of approximately INR 10,00,00 crore from prominent textiles and garment groups across India.

Gujarat is known as the textile hub of India. The state is also well-known for its business-friendly environment and investment supportive initiatives. It has various finely tuned policies to promote sectoral growth. To promote the eco-system in the textile sector, various incentives like interest subsidy, concession in power tariff, technology upgradation, and other many others are provided under Gujarat Textile Policy, 2019. Moreover, the textile sector has been identified as a “thrust sector” under Aatmanirbhar Gujarat Scheme 2022, which provides additional lucrative benefits to industrialists.

The Central Government had announced plans to set up seven mega textile parks under the PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) scheme. In addition to Gujarat, these parks are being established in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.
