Under the aegis of India’s Presidency of the G20 and in the run-up to the 3rd Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) and Finance and Central Bank Deputies (FCBD) meetings, scheduled from July 14-18, 2023 in Gandhinagar, with a view to creating wider awareness and involvement, Reserve Bank of India, Ahmedabad in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, State Project Office, Gandhinagar has conducted a State/UT Level Quiz competition on Financial Literacy for school kids of Gujarat and Dadar and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu in Ahmedabad on July 07, 2023.

The quiz was themed on financial awareness and literacy for the government school students of class VIII, IX and X. A total of around 72 students participated in the quiz from 33 districts of Gujarat and three districts of Dadar and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu. The teams were shortlisted after Block and District level quiz competition held earlier in the State / UT.

The quiz was conducted with a motive to give further impetus to financial literacy efforts and fulfil the vision of creating a financially aware and empowered India. The topics covered in the quiz were related to G-20, banking and financial sector. The zeal and fervour of the students were heartening. The event witnessed encouraging participation of girl students.

Govt Higher Secondary School, Silvasa, Government Higher Secondary School, Buchadwada (Diu) and Government Higher Secondary School, Moti Damanwada (Daman) secured the first, second and third positions respectively for the UT Level Quiz of DNH & DD. Govt Primary School, Bhuj, Shree Nani Kundal Secondary School, Babara (Amreli) and Der Kanya Primary School, Patan, secured the first, second and third positions respectively for the State Level Quiz of Gujarat. Top winning teams will participate in Zonal Level Round to be held tentatively in August 2023. Eventually, there will be a National Level Quiz from the winning teams of Zonal Level Quiz

Shri Ashok Parikh, GM (O-i-C), RBI, Smt. Tanushri Nitin Dolare, DGM, RBI, Shri Pranay Ranjan Dwivedi, GM, SBI, Shri M.P. Singh, DGM, NABARD and Shri Mahesh Mehta, Secretary, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, State Project Office were present during the event.
