Under the aegis of India’s Presidency of the G20 and in the run-up to the 3^rd Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) and Finance and Central Bank Deputies (FCBD) meetings, scheduled from July 14-18, 2023 in Gandhinagar, with a view to creating wider awareness and involvement, a Jan Bhagidari program on ‘electronic Banking and Awareness Training’ was organized by Reserve Bank of India, Ahmedabad at 1 Gujarat Girls Bn NCC, Ahmedabad on June 27, 2023. The program was attended by 270 NCC cadets.

The programme was chaired by Shri Devendra D. Bonde, Deputy General Manager and attended by other officials from Reserve Bank of India (RBI). At the outset, Colonel Naresh Kumar, Commanding Officer from NCC welcomed RBI officials and advised all participants to be attentive to take advantage of the session on e-Baat.  Thereafter, Smt. Shreya Lalawat, Assistant Manager in her session briefed about the ease and benefits of digital transactions and precautions to be taken while using digital banking. They were informed about the advantages of digital banking and various modes of digital payments such as NEFT, RTGS, UPI., etc. They were made aware of fraudulent schemes such as OTP scam, fake emails etc. and cautioned about Do’s & Don’ts of safe and secure electronic banking. The cadets were advised to be vigilant against phishing and fraudulent schemes, aimed at duping the gullible public.

Afterwards, Ms. Astha Sharma, Manager, brought to the notice of the participants RBI guidelines on customer liability in case of unauthorized transactions and Integrated Ombudsman Scheme. They were also apprised about the latest announcements regarding the launch of UPI123Pay (UPI for Feature Phones) and DigiSaathi (24x7 Helpline for Digital Payments).

The program concluded with an engaging quiz, in which the cadets participated actively. The programme was very well appreciated by the participants and officials from 1 Gujarat Girls Bn NCC, Ahmedabad.
