The community's feelings of care and sharing are something the modern world needs to learn from them. We have organised Smart City Exhibition by school students, a presentation on the role of tribal freedom fighters of Odisha and different forms of Tribal Dance performances today. This is to let the young generation know the importance of Odisha's tribal history and culture. More than 50 folk dancers and instrument players have participated today."

The event began with Mangalacharan (Odissi Dance) and ended with Sambalpuri folk dances by Nrityunjay Club's students of NIT Rourkela and REC campus school children. The other classical and folk dance forms were Bahasusun, Magdeo, Bala, Mardani Jhumar, Anganai, Uduesu etc. The artists were from Birmitrapur, Nuagaon, and Bishra block of Sundargarh district. Dancers from Munda, Santhal and Binjhia communities performed dances portraying agriculture, marriage and war. Prof. K. Umamaheshwar Rao (Director) commented on the day's events and said, "G20 has given us this opportunity to showcase our talents through these Jan Bhagidari events. Today's Nukkad Natak performance was an eye-opener for all, alarming to adopt a sustainable lifestyle to save soil, water and the environment. The exhibition by school students and presentation on Smart Campus is appreciable as it depicts how the young generation is concerned about creating a better future. A presentation on the indomitable spirit of freedom fighters of Odisha is a lesson we all should learn and be grateful for. I was mesmerised to see the beautiful traditional dance forms and the performance of rituals during the dance. Team NIT Rourkela thanks them for their contribution and efforts in making the event grand and successful".
