State/UT-wise no. of Individual Household Latrines (IHHLs) and Community Sanitary Complexes (CSCs) constructed under Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) [SBM(G)] during the year 2022-23 (upto 23.3.2023) are given at Annexure-1.
State/UT-wise details of Central share funds allocated and released under SBM(G) and the utilization reported by the States/UTs during the year 2022-23 are given at Annexure-2.
During 2022-23, the budget allocation for SBM(G) is Rs.5000 crore (Revised Estimates). For 2023-24, Budget Estimate for SBM(G) is Rs.7192 crore.
Under SBM(G), State/UT-wise funds allocation is made on the basis of demands submitted by the States/UTs in their Annual Implementation Plans (AIPs), after their approval by the National Scheme Sanctioning Committee of SBM(G). State/UTs have submitted their AIPs for the year 2023-24 which are being discussed with them. Hence, State-wise allocation of funds for the year 2023-24 has not yet been done.
SBM(G) Phase-II has been launched with effect from 1st April, 2020 for a period of 5 years with the objective to sustain the ODF status and to make arrangements for solid and liquid waste management in all the villages in the country, by 2024-25. Hence, the SBM(G) budget allocation for 2023-24 will be utilized for the activities as defined under the programme guidelines.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today.
