B20 DELEGATES GETS MESMERIZED BY CULTURAL DIVERSITY OF MIZORAM


MIZORAM GOVERNOR HOST CULTURAL EVENING FOR DELEGATES OF B20 SUMMIT

Delegates of the B20 summit got mesmerized by the cultural diversity of Mizoram following a cultural evening hosted by the Governor of Mizoram Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati at Raj Bhavan, Aizawl today.

Overseas delegates from 17 nations representing Argentina, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Canada, Costa Rica, Cote D’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), China, France, Germany, Ghana, Japan, Nepal, Russia, Sri Lanka, South Africa, United States and Zimbabwe in addition to the Indian and local business participants including 48 overseas business delegates and 17 diplomats, and representatives from Bhutan, Bangladesh and Japan landed today at Lengpui airport. The delegates were accorded a warm welcome by the State Government with traditional music and dance.

The cultural event showcased the rich traditional heritage of the Mizo society and several other traditional handloom products of the State. The world famous Mizo Bamboo dance was also displayed for the delegates which delighted the visiting dignitaries.

The B20 conference scheduled on 2nd March 2023 will focus on Opportunities for Multilateral Business Partnerships in Urban planning, Infrastructure, Bamboo, Startups, Skill Development, Handloom & Handicraft, Nursing and Paramedics.

As part of the programme, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is facilitating Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Government (B2G) meetings. Visiting Overseas Business Delegates would get the opportunity to interact with the local industry during the B2B and with the Government in the B2G session for potential investment, collaboration and tie-ups. Over 100 B2B and B2G requests have been generated including request for interaction with Government Departments viz-a-viz Health, Urban Development, Commerce and Industries, Tourism, Sports and Labour employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. CII is inviting speakers from all over India to deliberate on the focus sectors at the Conference.

Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga along with Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, MoS, External Affairs Minister and Shri Som Parkash, MoS, Commerce and Industries Minister, Government of India in the presence of Senior Government Officials from the State and Centre will graced the inaugural programme of the B20 sessions.

During the conference, Prof Laldinliana, Department of Commerce, Mizoram University will deliberate on Prospects in the Core Sector such as Bamboo, Nursing & Paramedics, Handloom & Handicraft, Start-ups and Skill Development. Mr Lalmalsawma Pachuau Secretary Department of Planning & Programme Implementation Government of Mizoram and Mr Rinzuala Managing Director, MIZOFED & Expert Member, Mizoram Startup Mission Society will speak on Support Ecosystem for doing Business.

 

Industry leaders such as Mr Laldinliana Chhangte Chief Executive Officer King Industries, Mr Anil Mutha Chairman Mutha Industries Private Limited, Mr Francis Lalmalsawma Sailo Consultant Hnahlan Grape Farming & Processing Co-op Society, Ms K Lalmuanpuii Proprietor Lenbuang Handloom & Handicrafts, Dr Debashish Chowdhury Director Professor & Head of Neurology G B Pant Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Mr Lairenjam Niranjan Singh Director & CEO JCRE Skill Solutions, Mr Vijay Rai Chief Growth Officer – Asia Pacific Region, Day-One Technologies, Mr Rohit Kumar Founder & CEO Zedsoftpoint, Ms Marion Velut Counsellor for Environment Sustainable Cities & Mobilities Regional Economic Department for India & South Asia will share their experience and expertise.
