The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Sub Area Manager, Ghonsa Open Cast Mine (OCM), Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), Wani North Area, Wani, in Yavatamal district of Maharashtra for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. one lakh from the complainant.

CBI has registered a case on complaint against the said Sub Area Manager, on the allegations of demanding bribe of Rs. 3,23,610/- from the complainant, to issue the delivery order for lifting the coal from the WCL Mine. It was further alleged that the complainant’s firm was authorized to lift 8,200 MT coal from Ghonsa OCM, WCL, Wani North Area but the firm could lift only 4,623 MT coal.
