Around 2300 school students from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry participate in nation-wide painting competition on ‘Parakram Diwas’

Around 2300 students from nearly 270 schools from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry participated in the nation-wide painting competition on the 126th the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on 23rd January. The day is observed as ‘Parakram Diwas’ to inspire students on life of the great leader and instill in them spirit of patriotism.

 

The painting competition which was organized  Kendriya Vidyala Sangathan on behalf of Ministry of Education was conducted District wiseacross Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman & Nicobar Islands wherever Kendriya Vidyalaya is functioning.  The unique initiative saw the enthusiatic and diverse participation of students from 130 CBSE schools, 101 State Govt schools, 41 Kendriya Vidyalas and 4 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalas. In this 9 schools were from Andaman & Nicobar Islands and remaining from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.  The theme of the competition was about becoming an 'Exam Warrior' based on the book by the same name written by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The book shares many mantras for the students to  cope-up with and reduce exam stress. 

 

The students from various schools expressed their creativity through their diverse drawings and paintings based on the themes such as ‘Yoga Brings Transformation’, ‘Discover Yourself’, ‘India is Incredible’, ‘Be a Warrior Not a Worrier’ etc which were based on the mantras given by Prime Minister in the book ‘Exam Warriors’.

 

The best 05 paintings of each district were selected by a Jury of experts  from reputed institutions and the winners were given certificates and books  on freedom fighters and topics of national importance.

 

Over 50,000 students across India participated in this unique initiative of Ministry of Education to encourage creative expressions of students and also help them cope- up with examination stress. The competition was organized as a run-up to the ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ event on 27th January wherein students, parents, teachers from across the nation and also from overseas will be interacting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss anxieties related to examinations and life after school.
