Distribution of kites to children by NIOS in Kanbha village on the occasion of Uttarayana

National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), a Government of India open and distance learning Board and the largest open schooling system in the world caters to the needs of a heterogeneous group of learners up to pre-degree level. With a vision to touch every child and adult of the country and to take the school education literacy rate to 100%, its Gujarat Regional Office at Gandhinagar distributed Kites among children of masses at Kanbha Village near Vijapur of Mehsana District on 10th January 2023 at the onset of Uttarayan, the biggest festival of Gujarat.

  

Present at the occasion were Dr Saumya Rajan Regional Director, NIOS Gujarat, DNH&DD, Sh.Manak Sogra EDP Supervisor, Sh.Priten Khandavi Staff NIOS, Sh.Prakashnhai M. Patel, Kanbha Primary School and Sh. R. C. Patel, Sarpanch Kanbha Village. Regional Director Dr Rajan  informed everyone about the importance of Uttarayan, Kites, education and how weather-based activities have a scientific and medicinal reason for the benefit of mankind.

This is being done across Gujarat through Kites bearing the message- “NIOS- Education at your Doorstep”- for larger dissemination of educational-information and public awareness with joy.
