Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil reviews preparation of G-20 conference in Pune


Guardian Minister suggests proper co-ordination among various agencies for successful organisation of the conference

Higher and Technical Education Minister of Maharashtra and Guardian Minister of Pune Shri Chandrakant Patil today reviewed the preparations for the forthcoming G20 conference in Pune. Around 200 delegates from 38 countries will be visiting Pune next week to attend this conference.

After landing at the Lohgaon Airport the delegates will travel to the conference venue on Senapati Bapat Road. Shri Patil inspected  this route today and instructed the concerned authorities accordingly.  He also reviewed the  reception arrangements at the airport.

   

Shri. Patil held a review meeting of all the senior officials .  Divisional commissioner, Pune Shri Saurabh Rao,  
Municipal Commissioner Shri Vikram Kumar,   District Collector Shri Rajesh Deshmukh, Police Commissioner, Ritesh Kumar and other senior officials attended the meeting.

   

Various issues including beautification of the city, security of foreign delegates and streamlining the vehicular traffic were discussed in detail in the backdrop of the G20 meeting. Divisional Commissioner  Shri Saurabh Rao made the presentation about the organisation of the G20 meetings and briefed Shri Patil about the responsibilities entrusted to the government machinery. 

   

Separate sections of Municipal Corporations, State Tourism Development Corporation, State Industrial Development Corporation and Women Self Help groups will be opened on the sideline of the meeting and various attractive products will be available on these stalls for sale. After the meeting Shri Patil said that all the government machineries should maintain proper co-ordination among themselves for successful organisation of the G20 meetings in Pune. 

Addressing media persons after the meeting Shri Patil said rich tradition and culture of Pune, Maharashtra and the country will be showcased at the conference. "The meeting in Pune will broadly focus on rising urbanization. Cultural programmes will also be organised during the course of the meeting to welcome the G20 delegates. This will include the famous Lavani of Maharashtra, Shiv Vandana, Ganesh Stuti and Gondhal a traditional dance form in rural Maharashtra".
