Lieutenant General A Arun, General Officer Commanding-Dakshin Bharat Area paid homage and laid wreath on occasion of the Vijay Diwas at the War Memorial, Chennai today. Vijay Diwas special Run was also organized by the Headquarters-Dakshin Bharat Area of Indian Army on the occasion. More than 3,000 people participated. Officials from the Military, Veterans, Rotary Club members, and general public took part in the Run.

‘Vijay Diwas’ is celebrated on the 16th of December every year to commemorate the anniversary of victory of Indian Armed Forces in the 1971 Indo-Pak War, in which about 93,000 Pakistani soldiers surrendered and resulted in the liberation of Bangladesh.
