Holidays to be observed by Central Government Offices in Kerala in 2023

The list of Holidays for the year 2023 to be observed by Central Government Offices in Kerala has been published. In 2023, there will be 17 holidays and 41 restricted holidays.

Holidays:

January 26 Republic Day
April 04 Mahavira Jayanti
April 07 Good Friday
*April 21 Idu'l-Fitr (Ramzan), 
May 05 Buddha Purnima
*June 28 Idu'l Zuha (Bakrid)
*July 28 Muharram
August 15 Independence Day
August 29 Thiruvonam
September 06 Janmashtami 
*September 27 Milad-Un-Nabi (Birthday of Prophet Mohammed)
October 2  Gandhi Jayanti
October 23 Mahanavami
October 24 Vijayadasami
November 12 Diwali
November 27 Guru Nanak Jayanti
December 25 Christmas

Of these, April 21:  Idu'l-Fitr, June 28: Idu'l Zuha (Bakrid), July 28: Muharram, and September 27: Milad-Un-Nabi  (Birthday of Prophet Mohammed) have been adopted from the State list. If the State Government changes any of these Holidays, only the changed date will be observed as a Holiday for the Central Government Offices in Kerala

Two of the 41 restricted holidays are available to Central Government employees. These include the following special days in Kerala:January 02: Mannam Jayanti,January 14:Makarasanranti, February 18: Maha Shivrathri, March 12: Ayya Vaikundaswamy  Jayanti , April 14 : Vishu, July 17: Karkadaka Vavu, August 28: First Onam, August 30: Third Onam,  August 31 - Fourth Onam/Sree Narayana Guru Jayanti, September 19 :Ganesh Chaturthi,  September 22: Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi Day

The decision regarding finalization of the list of holidays to be observed by Central Government Offices in 2022 was taken at a meeting of the Central Government Welfare Employees Coordination Committee in Thiruvananthapuram.
