Clean India 2.0 Programme from 1st October

The Clean India 2.0 Programme by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav will be launched tomorrow (1st October). The programme aims to make public spaces litter-free, collect and dispose of non-recyclable plastic waste through public participation. Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Shri. Anurag Singh Thakur will inaugurate the second phase of the Clean India programme at Prayagaraj in Uttar Pradesh on October 1. Nehru Yuva Kendra, National Service Scheme, UN agencies , NCC, Scouts & Guides, District Administration among others will work together in the Clean India 2.0 programme which will last for a month till October 31.

6 lakh villages in 736 districts nationwide will be part of Clean India 2.0. Youth volunteers will clean places such as historical monuments, schools, primary health centers, public roads, bus stands and railway stations.
