A team of journalists representing the state of Punjab on a ‘Press Tour’ to Andhra Pradesh have successfully completed their week-long tour under ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ (EBSB)

The team winded up their tour with a visit to Sri City where they interacted with AGM (Marketing) Shri Hari and PRO Shri Ravindranath where they were briefed on manufacturing of mobile phones by Mi and wheel chairs by Vermeiren a Belgium company with 95% of its products being exported. All the manufacturing units are functioning under ‘Make in India’ programme.

The ‘Press Tour’ by a team of journalists from Punjab has been conceived to enhance interaction and promote on mutual understanding between people of different states of varied cultures and traditions. Every state is paired with another state under EBSB and Andhra Pradesh is paired with Punjab.

The week-long tour of journalists began on 1st September with a visit to Naval Dockyard where they were briefed by Admiral (Suptd.) Sanjay Sadhu about the achievements of the dockyard.

Later in the day the team met Visakhapatnam City Mayor Smt. GHV Kumari and Municipal Commissioner Shri G. Lakshmisha and were briefed on the achievements of the corporation under Swachh Bharat Mission. The Commissioner said that with public cooperation, the municipal corporation was successfully able to stop single use plastic bags and other material besides keeping the beaches garbage free.

The Commissioner further added that sewerage water after treatment by the corporation is being supplied for industrial use generating about Rs 4.07 crore monthly revenue.
The team of journalists interacted with ITDA Project Officer Shri Gopala Krishna Ronanki in Paderu who briefed them on various developmental projects being run for providing better living to tribal population in their own habitats. He said MGNREGA is playing a pivotal role in giving them livelihood.
On Day-3, the journalists were also apprised of the new projects taken up by Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC). Assistant Director, Capacity Building, Dr. Lajwanti Naidu along with Deputy CEO Shri V. Ramudu and General Manager administration & marketing Shri Bhawani Prasad briefed about Blue Economy project under which the APTDC is establishing hotels and other facilities to attract tourists. They also apprised the journalists about Govt of India's Prasad Project and Swadesh Darshan projects.
The team visited Kondapalli village and interacted with the family of state award winner artisan Shri K. Venkatachari to know the origin of Kondapalli Toys. They also visited Kondapalli Fort where the representatives of Archeological Survey of India briefed the journalists on the developmental work taken up by the ASI especially of launching of Kondapalli App.
The group left for Punjab on Tuesday after a brief halt at Sri Kalahasti. APTDC coordinated the visit of journalists from Punjab organised by Press Information Bureau, Chandigarh.
