India under PM Narendra Modi is marching ahead into its Techade as a resolute & resilient Nation. PM is preparing India for its journey through the Amrit Kaal by opening up new areas of opportunities, said Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar as he interacted with leaders from Industry, Academia and other eminent personalities of Surat at a session organized at the Sarvajanik University, Gujarat.

Speaking to the gathering, the Minister shared how 8 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Government has turned conventional Narratives about India’s democracy and governance being leaky and dysfunctional, entirely on its head. Highlighting the efficiency in disbursal of subsidies & public services to beneficiaries, the Minister mentioned that every single paise meant for beneficiary reaches directly into his/her account through the power of Digital Transactions without any leakages

 The Minister also shared how India’s Tax Revenue has constantly been increasing & has  significantly increased from Rs 22 Lac crore to Rs 27 Lac crore thereby shattering Narrative that India’s Economy suffers from low tax revenues. He further mentioned that the net increase in revenue has resulted into an increased capital expenditure, to the tune of Rs 7.5 lac crore, which is the highest ever in the history of India.

Sharing vision of PM Narendra Modi ji which is to empower all Indians - Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas, the Minister mentioned “ unlike previous years when opportunities were concentrated within few families, India is now known and respected by the world for its vibrant Startup ecosystem. India’s Startups, entrepreneurs and innovators, backed by proactive policies of the Narendra Modi Govt, have turned this narrative on its head.

The Minister engaged in an open QnA session, answering questions from all stakeholders. Subjects ranged from discussions over growth of MSMEs in Gujarat, Need for Skilling, Upskilling the youth as per requirements of industry, working in close association with District administration for preparation of District Skill Development Plan.

As a closing remark, the Minister concluded by saying that so far Surat has been known for its Diamonds, Textiles and going forward, it should also be known for ‘D’igital, ‘T’echnology & ‘S’tartups. Prof Persi Engineer, Provost, Sarvajanik University, Sh Kamlesh Yagnik, President, Sarvajanik University, Sh Nagarajan, IAS, Sh Ashish Vakil, Vice Chairman -II, Sarvajanik Education Society, CA Sh Rajesh Desai, amongst other dignitaries & members from South Gujarat Chambers of Industry & Commerce were in attendance at the session.
