As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the Archaeological Survey of India, Thrissur circle is organizing various programmes including illumination in Tricolour of selected centrally protected monuments including Palakkad Fort, St. Angelo Fort, Bekal Fort and Anjengo Fort from 8^th to 15^th August 2022.

 

Also, cleaning activities are being organized at all the 29 monuments/sites under the Thrissur circle from 8^th to 15^th August 2022 under Swachhta Abhiyan.

 

On 15^th August, the National Flag will be hoisted from 15 mt high permanent flag masts at Bekal Fort, St. Angelo Fort and Palakkad Fort. In addition, Fort Telichery, Jaina Temple, Sulthan Bathery and Anjengo Fort, have also been selected for flag hoisting ceremonies. War veterans/freedom fighters/Padmashri Awardees will hoist the flags.

 

Since Palakkad Fort has been included under the Mission Amrit Sarovar-Jal Dharohar Sanrakshan scheme, a photo exhibition is being organized here from 12^th to 15^th August to educate and encourage the younger generation about the importance of water conservation.
