Union Minister of State in Ministry of Electronics and IT , Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Rajeev Chandrasekhar shall be visiting Gujarat today on a two-day official visit. The minister shall be visiting four universities in Ahmedabad, Mehsana, Anand and Vadodara and interact with students and start-ups during his visit.

This visit is a follow up to the earlier visit to Ahmedabad in the month of May, where the Minister interacted with over 100 Startups and 1000 students. The interaction, with theme ‘New India for Young India : Techade of Opportunities’, was very well received by Startups, Entrepreneurs, Academia and Students.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar will start his day, on 27th June, with visit to Nirma University, Ahmedabad and inaugurate the new Incubation Center in the University. The Minister would meet Startups and Felicitate few successful startups. The Minister -who himself has been a technocrat, successful entrepreneur - who built India’s first and largest wireless cellular network, a proactive MP and an active advocate of Technology related policies, serves as an ideal inspiration for the younger generation. Shri Jitubhai Vaghani, Minister of Education, Government of Gujarat & Sh Kuber Dindor are expected to attend the programme at NIRMA, University, Ahmedabad. 

This will be followed by a visit to the Ganpat University (GUNI), Kherva in Mehsana the same day. The Minister will visit the Incubation Centre at the University where he will be taken through a product showcase by the Startups. He shall also visit the Centre of Excellence for Telecom in the University. This will be followed by an engaging session with the students on the Techade of Opportunities for the young Indians. The Minister will travel to Anand where he shall meet industry leaders, Academia and other people from the Skill Ecosystem.

Next day (on 28 June 2022) he will give a Talk on India’s Techade at Charutar Vidya Mandal University (CVM) in Anand followed by Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) in Vadodara.

The visit of Shri. Rajeev Chandrasekhar is also part of his mission to inspire students and startups across the Country, encouraging them to acquire skills in emerging technologies & highlighting the importance of learning Digital Skills for India’s expanding Digital Economy. The Minister has already held interactions with Startups in Kerala, Bengaluru, Meerut, Lucknow and Nagaland in the NorthEast.

India, over the last 7 years, has emerged as one of the world’s most vibrant startup ecosystem with over 70,000 registered Startups and 100 Unicorns. The Govt of Gujarat, with a vibrant startup policy and ecosystem, is taking a lead in making Gujarat as the next Hub for Startups. Amidst this background, Rajeev Chandrasekhar  has been inspiring students & Startups in Gujarat to pursue their  passion for innovation. “Innovation, Innovation & Innovation is the mantra going forward. Innovation is going to drive our future. Our Startups & Entrepreneurs will drive the Indian Economy towards $5 Trillion & Digital Economy towards $ 1 Trillion”, he said while addressing the Gujarat University students on ‘New India for Young India: Techade of Opportunities’, during his last visit.
