PM Narendra Modi ji’s vision is to make India into a Global Skills Hub : Rajeev Chandrasekhar


Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship is working out a new approach to Skilling to build on the gains of Skill India 1.0

Hon MoS Rajeev Chandrasekhar visited the Anil Naik Technical Training Centre at Kharel today. The institute is reported to be the first one to introduce the concept of skill training for school drop-outs in south Gujarat. Since inception, over 4100 students, including 1100 girls have graduated from the Centre. The NSDC-accredited centre has an impressive placement rate of over 70%.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said “The beautifully built and well equipped Anil Naik Training Centre should adopt nearby districts and workout a comprehensive district skill development plan in association with local district administrations. The institute must focus on skill training related to local farming and non-farming job roles. These skill training will boost local economy by leveraging technology driven training programs for demand driven job roles and hence mitigate the problem of people migrating out for jobs.”

Sharing information about the New Approach to Skilling which is being drawn by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Rajeev Chandrasekhar added “ PM Narendra Modi on July 15th 2021 gave a clarion call for designing a New Approach to Skilling which shall build on the gains made by Skill India 1.0. He directed for Repurposing and Reimagining  Skill India & to move ahead with New Paradigm, making skills Aspirational for all.”

The Minister suggested the institute to plan for a pilot project linking Nationala Education Policy & Skill India Initiative at the Maninagar Education Campus which consists of Vocational Training Centre, Primary & Secondary School. He also suggested that High quality skill-training can be a social game changer and should create more village engineers to restrict migration. It opens doors to opportunity for tribal n other youth and is the key to sustainable progress.”

Minister also visited Nirali Cancer Hospital at Navsari which has treated 10,000 patients  & conducted over 700 surgical operations within an year of establishment. A Multi Speciality Hospital is due to start its operations soon which shall give a significant boost to the health care facilities in the region.
