Labour and Employment Ministry celebrates Iconic week as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav; Organises Awareness Programmes on Labour Laws

Mumbai, 11th March 2022

 

Ministry of Labour and Employment, organised awareness programmes on labour laws for the workmen and employers at the construction site of Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) at CST Metro station, Mumbai yesterday 10th March 2022. This programme was organised as part of its Iconic Week being observed from 7 to 13th March amid Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.

Chief Guest and Chief Personnel Officer (CPO), Central Railway, K K Thakur, enlightened the audience as to how adherence to law contributes to national development.

Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) DYCLC (C) , Mumbai, Tej Bahadur informed about the primary rights and duties of workmen and employers and sensitised them to follow the law in their own interest.

 

Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central) Mumbai, Shradha Shrivastava presented a brief about the provisions of labour laws and the impact of implementation and non-implementation.

Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central) Mumbai, Karuna Shribad and Labour Enforcement officer (Central) Sonu Bura also participated in the program.

Pamphlets were distributed to workers to promote awareness about labour laws.

In this series the office of DYCLC(C), Mumbai also organised similar programmes at Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) on 9th March,2022 and at Konkan Railways, Belapur on 8th March, 2022.  Site Director, NPCIL, VK Sharma and Director Finance, KRCL Rajesh Bhadange, graced the occasion as chief guests.
