India Post has announced the Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme 2021-22 Seriex X is open for subscription for the period from 28 February 2022 to 4 March 2022. The nominal value of the bond is Rs 5109 per gram of gold.

The sale is open in all Post Offices under Chennai City Central Division which includes Thyagaraya Nagar (T Nagar) Head Post Office and Mylapore Head Post Office and 22 other Sub-Post Offices.

The Sovereign Gold Bond is safe and secure. The investor can invest maximum of 4 kg for the financial year and minimum of 1 gram under the scheme. The investor will be compensated at a fixed rate of 2.50% per annum payable semi-annually. The tenor of the Bond will be for a period of eight years with premature close facility after fifth year. Bonds can be used as collateral for loans.

The investor can get the Sovereign Gold Bond by completing the application and submit the same in Post Office along with copy of Pan Card, Aadhar Card/Passport/Voter ID and first page of bank passbook.
