Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying Dr.  L. Murugan was the chief guest in the state level Silambam competition organised at Ramapuram in Chennai today.

 

The event was organised by   the World Silambam Sports Association as part of the birth anniversary celebrations of Bharat  Ratna Dr M. G. Ramachandran.

 

Murugan interacted with the participants and took selfies with them.

 

More than 1,400 contestants from across   Tamilnadu   took part in the competition.

 

Before this, the Minister   listened to the   Prime Minister's 'Mann Ki Baat'   radio  program at an event organised at West  Saidapet  in Chennai.
