Governer exhorts youngsters to learn about the sacrifices of unsung Freedom Fighters


“Photo Exhibition on Telugu Freedom Fighters as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations provides opportunity to remember Freedom Fighters with Gratitude”- Tamilisai Soundararajan

          The Hon’ble Governer of Telangana, Smt Tamilisai Soundararajan visited the photo exhibition on Telugu freedom fighters put up by the Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB), Hyderabad, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at the Regional Passport Office in the city today. Speaking on the occasion Hon’ble Governer said that such efforts provide us an opportunity to remember the sacrifices of our fore-fathers towards securing freedom for us and also motivates us to re-dedicate ourselves to the service of our country. Further, she added that youngsters should visit such exhibitions to understand the history of the fight for independence of the nation.

 

         

‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations, an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate 75 years of independence and various Ministries are observing it through outreach activities. The present photo exhibition containing about 45 panels on prominent freedom fighters of Telugu states has been put up at Regional Passport Office, Hyderabad, Ministry of External Affairs is in association with Regional Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. During the week- long exhibition various activities like painting competitions for school children on the topic of freedom struggle, cycle rally etc were organised. Shri Dasari Balaiah, the regional passport officer (RPO) and Smt Shruti Patil, Director Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB), and senior officials of both offices participated in event,

Earlier, the ROB, Hyderabad organized its first Photo exhibition on 75 Years of India’s Independence at Warangal on March 12, 2021 which was also inaugurated by the Telangana State Governor Smt. Tamilisai Soundararajan. Later, these photo exhibitions were organized at Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Kamareddy, Armoor, Devrarkonda and at Ramappa Temple in Mulugu district which was declared as World Heritage Site recently by the UNESCO.
