Regional Passport Office, Goa organises programme on ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’

The Ministry of Culture has been identified as the nodal ministry of Government of India for the celebrations of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’. The Ministry of External Affairs has been allocated 21-27 February Week to celebrate the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav'. In this context, the Regional Passport Office, Goa has scheduled week-long celebrations in the state. Today a lecture and quiz was organised for foreign students studying in Goa University. The programme was organised in collaboration with Goa University and Indian Council for Cultural Relations. Registrar Prof. V.S.Nadkarni, Assistant Passport Officer Shri Sanjeev Sunger and Rakesh Kumar from ICCR were present on the occasion.

Prof Nadkarni said that, in the last 75 years our country has seen tremendous transformations as a nation both internally as well as global economic and geo-political fronts. ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all the success India has achieved. International students will get information about the glorious 75 years of the country through this programme, he added.

Assistant Passport Officer Sanjeev Sunger on this occasion elaborated on initiatives taken by the office such as passport awareness programme.

Dr. Dattesh Parulekar delivered a lecture on ‘India at 75’. After the lecture, a quiz was organised for the foreign students. Prize and Certificates were awarded to the winners and participants.
