The objective of the scheme is to make the overseas education affordable to the students belonging to the Other Backward Classes and Economically Backward Classes and provide access to the high quality education.

As regards the Maharashtra State, an amount of Rs.4,78,39,870/- as subsidy has been released during the last three years. The details are given in Annexure-I.

A total of 10,803 students have benefited under the scheme during the last three years. All applications received from the eligible students as per the guidelines of the scheme have been considered.
