Post-Office Passport Seva Kendra started at Dombivli, Mumbai


Union Minister of State for Communications virtually inaugurates the nation’s 428th Post-Office Passport Seva Kendra in Dombivli

A Post-Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) has been inaugurated virtually by Union Minister of State for Communications Shri Devusinh Chauhan at Dombivali Industrial Area Post Office in Thane district today.

Speaking on the occasion, MoS Shri Chauhan said, this is the 428th Post-Office Passport Seva Kendra being started in the country. It points to the popularity and importance of this service being rendered using the vast postal network of the country. He further stated around 6 lakh passports have been distributed from POPSKs in last six months, which means around three thousand passports are issued from POPSKs every day. He applauded the postal employees for this achievement.

 

 

Shri Chauhan said, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the citizens have seen what use the trustworthy postal network can be put to. “Citizen-centric approach of the Government has led to proper use of the postal network”, he added.

The residents of Thane and Nashik district will be benefitted by this POPSK at Dombivli, stated Chief Post Master General of Maharashtra and Goa, Shri Harish Agarwal. The serving postal employees of Dombivli Post Office have been specially trained for the PSK related works, he informed.

Member of Parliament, Kalyan Lok Sabha Constituency Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde, Regional Passport Officer (Mumbai) Dr. Rajesh Gawande, Post Master General of Navi Mumbai Region Shri Ganesh Sawaleshwarkar, OSD in the Ministry of External Affairs Lt. Col. Ashok Kumar Singh were present on the occasion.
