Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav-Photo Exhibition organised in Navi Mumbai


Exhibition based on lives of unsung warriors of the Indian freedom struggle

Ministry of Information & Broadcasting is celebrating its Iconic Week of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. As part of the ongoing activities Regional Outreach Bureau, Maharashtra-Goa (ROB) has organised a photo-exhibition at Kendriya Sadan, CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai.

The exhibition based on lives of unsung warriors of the Indian freedom struggle was inaugurated today by Shri Bipin Kumar Singh, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Navi Mumbai and Shri Randeep Datta, IGP, CRPF (Western Sector), Navi Mumbai.

The Photo-Exhibition brings forward the unseen dimensions of the Indian freedom struggle. The exhibition is free for everyone and will be open till Friday, 27 August, 2021. Guests need to follow appropriate COVID protocols.

Inaugurating the exhibition, Shri Bipin Kumar Singh said he was impressed to see pictures of some unsung heroes of the  freedom movement in the exhibition, about whom people are not much aware of. He lauded the efforts of the organisations working under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for preserving them for the future generations. He urged people to visit the exhibition with their family and children.

Shri Randeep Datta informed about various activities being undertaken by the CRPF, Western Zone as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. He said besides organizing Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 , tree plantation drive is being undertaken at All Formations of CRPF, Western Zone.  Cycle rallies have been organised from Nagpur to Jabalpur and from Sabarmati Ashram, Gujarat to Udaipur, Rajasthan, he added. 

Cultural troupes under the Regional Outreach Bureau, Pune performed patriotic programmes at the inaugural function which was highly appreciated by the guests.

Shri S. R Singh, Head of Branch, Central Bureau of Investigation, Smt. Ruplai Ambure, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Special Branch and other Central Govt Officers and dignitaries were present at the inaugural function.

Shri Nikhil Deshmukh of ROB, spoke about the various activities being organised in the region during the iconic week. He said as a part of country wide celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, ROB Pune is organising photo exhibitions at Navi Mumbai and Madgaon, Goa. Further, 2-day special outreach programmes are being organised at Aurangabad, Solapur, Nanded, Nashik & Pune during the iconic week. To reach out to the grassroot level, 75 programs of cultural troupes have been organised in Maharashtra & Goa.

The Iconic Week under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a grand celebration by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting that showcases the convergence of the values and glories of the freedom struggle of the past with the aspirations and dreams of a young, new and iconic India.
