Ahead of the counting of votes polled during the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections 2021, Press Information Bureau, Chennai, has released Constituency Wise Candidate Data Sheet, a tool to help journalists covering election results.

The carefully prepared 249-page material has constituency-wise details of all candidates (parties and independents) contested in the Assembly elections held on April 6th.

With the help of the sheet, journalists can easily note the number of votes secured by each and every candidate. Separate columns have been provided for general votes, postal votes, total votes and percentage of votes polled.

It is hoped that the comprehensive data sheet would be of great help to journalists on the field to disseminate information in a fast and easy manner. The data sheet can be accessed at https://static.pib.gov.in/WriteReadData/userfiles/PIBChennai/Final%20book.pdf

Before the Assembly elections,  Press Information Bureau, Chennai, had prepared the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Election Handbook 2021 to help journalists.

Previous election results, Election Code of Conduct especially special guidelines in view of Covid-19, 234 constituency-wise data, Delimitation details, Constituency-wise numbers of voters, Points to be noted by candidates and voters, and various other details were compiled in a detailed manner in this handbook, which was much appreciated by the media fraternity.
