Based on intelligence, on Tuesday, one Mahthom sheik Haither Ali, 23 of Sivaganga who arrived from Dubai by Air India flight AI 906 was intercepted at exit on suspicion of carrying gold. On personal search, three bundles of gold paste weighing 863 grams were found concealed in rectum. On extraction 773 grams of gold worth Rs. 37.17lakhs was recovered and seized under Customs Act. He was arrested.
