Enrichment Programme for Teachers and Parents of Special Children

The Three-day Enrichment Programme for Teachers and Parents of Special Children jointly organized by Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB), Thiruvananthapuram and the Association for the Intellectually Disabled (AID) kick started today.
The three day programme aims to equip the teachers and parents of differently abled children to face the challenges of the new environment arose due to the pandemic.
Noted Motivational-Ability Trainer Mr. Brahma Nayakam Mahadevan, led the session today titled “Towards the New Normal”. Addressing on the occasion, he said that, “Building back better” is the theme for this year’s World Disability Day celebrated on 3rd December. There should be a collective effort from all sides to make this world more accessible to special children and for the inclusion of these children in the society.
Economic Adviser, Ministry I&B, Shri P K Abdul Kareem, Joint Director, Regional Outreach Bureau, Dr. Neetu Sona, Deputy Director, Regional Outreach Bureau, Smt. K A Beena also spoke.
On the next two days there will be sessions on themes such as ‘Parenting strategies in the period of Covid 19’, ‘Sexual health and related issues management in COVID period’, ‘Home bound Vocational Training: Strategies in COVID period’ and ‘Psycho Social Problems of Persons With Disabilities- post COVID-19’.
