Khelo India Scheme

The Khelo India Scheme covers all sportspersons, including sportspersons of rural India. The State-wise details of athletes selected so far under Khelo India Scheme are given at Annexure – I.
The following facilities are being provided by the Government to sportspersons under the Khelo India Scheme:
- Out of pocket allowance
- Coaching
- Lodging and boarding
- Sports kits
- Domestic travel
- Insurance and medical benefits
- Sports science management
- Educational tie-up

Under the Khelo India Scheme, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has sanctioned 179 sports infrastructure projects including playfields in rural areas, for development of sports infrastructure facilities in the States / Union Territories (UTs) of the country. State/UT wise details are placed at Annexure – II. Further, this Ministry has introduced geo-tagging of all playfields in the country and sharing the information with the public, which is in progress. So far 3005 playfields have been geo-tagged across the country, which includes 94 in West Bengal.
