MEGA EXHIBITION COMMEMORATING 550TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF GURU NANAK DEV TO BE HELD AT NAGAON FROM 8TH NOV HONORABLE GOVERNOR OF ASSAM TO INAUGURATE MEGA EXHIBITION COMMEMORATING 550TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF GURU NANAK DEV

Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India is organising a Mega Exhibition on the life and philosophy of Sri Guru Nanak Dev at Nagaon from 8th to 12th Nov, 2019. The Exhibition is being organised commemorating 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji and will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Governor of Assam Prof. Jagadish Mukhi.

 

Director General, Northeast Zone, Ministry of I & B, Govt. of India, Shri L. R. Vishwanath Chaired a Press Conference at the Conference Hall of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner where he expressed that the Exhibition will be one of its kind. Shri Vishwanath during his address said that only two such exhibitions will be held in the entire country- Sultanpur Lodhi and Nagaon. Nagaon has historical significance, where teachings of love, peace, equality and brotherhood of Shri Guru Nanak Devji are rooted in the life and culture of the people of the region, and therefore this exhibition is being organised in the place, he added.

 

Joint Director, Press Information Bureau, Guwahati, who also addressed the gathering said that the Multimedia Interactive Exhibition will have many state of the art display and projections. The top attraction will be a Virtual Reality of Sri Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur wherein Darshan can be had by the people gathered at the venue of the Nagaon exhibition of this historic Gurudwara.

 

The five-day event will also showcase various cultural performances including dance, drama, interactive sessions and discussions. Every day the exhibition will showcase cultural programmes like folk dances depicting culture and tradition of the Sikhs as well as that of local flavour including Gidda-bhangra,  instrumental Bihu, patriotic creative dance, Deodhani dance Tiwa dance, Bihu dance, Karbi dance among others.

 

Deputy Commissioner, Nagaon Shri Jadav Saikia was also present in the Press Conference.
