An intelligence was received to the extent that a GST registrant 100% Export Oriented Unit assessee was indulging in evasion of GST as well as had evaded Central Excise duty of pre-GST era, the officers of Directorate General of GST intelligence (DGGI), Zonal Unit, Surat during the search at six places recovered various incriminating documents leading to unearthing of evasion of GST, Customs duty as well as Central Excise duty. Searches were conducted at six different locations situated in Vapi, Silvassa, Dadra & Rakholi including residential premises. The exercise led to recovery of more than one crore rupees on the spot. Scrutiny of the documents is being undertaken by the officers of GST intelligence to ascertain the exact quantum of evasion and to decide the next course of action.
