Conclusion of Mou with IIT (Gandhinagar)

In pursuit of excellence in the ever-expanding technological fields, Indian Navy has concluded a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar on 07 May 18. The agreement will provide the Indian Naval personnel an opportunity to undergo various PhD and M Tech courses at the prestigious institute, besides promoting co-operationin the field of academics,mutual interest areas of Research & Development, joint research and internship projects.  The common fields of study identified between the organisations encompasses Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science & IT, Aviation Engineering, Civil Engineering. Further, visits of faculty and students of IIT (GN) to Indian Naval establishments for exposure to the Armed Forces, as well as, to initiate and undertake joint projects has also been envisaged under the MoU. It is expected that the provision of sharing of academic and research facilities between the two organisationswill go a long way in synergising efforts of mutual cooperation. The agreement was signed between Commodore Indrajit Dasgupta, Commanding Officer, INS Valsura and Prof. Sudhir K Jain, Director, IIT (Gandhinagar).
