The Hastshilp Sahyog Shivir, organized by Ministry of Textiles to mark the spirit of the “Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Garib Kalyan Varsh”, was held today  at Kollayil Cluster, Parasuvaikkal, Parassala, Thiruvananthapuram.

 

Thiruvananthapuram Sub collector Dr. Divya S Iyer, IAS inaugurated the camp. She encouraged artisans and weavers to work with compassion and also offered all possible support from the district administration. Shri. Parasuvaikkal Mohanan, Chairman, Kerala State Handicapped Persons Welfare Corporation Ltd., Shri.N K Manoj, MD,  Handicrafts Development Corporation of Kerala Ltd., Shri. Kesav  Dev, Manager, LIC, P&GS; Smt. Vidya V Nair Manager IOB Neyyatinkara were present on the occasion. 548 handicrafts artisans and handloom weavers participated in the camp.

 

Five tool kits (02 Hand Embroidery and 03 natural Fiber tool kits ), 25 HAABY scholarships , 01 death claim (of LIC), 50 Pehchan ID cards weavers yarn/tool kit and Mudra loans worth Rs. 10,00, 000/ were distributed to artisans and weavers, by Dr. Divya S Iyer IAS.
