Director General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Mumbai has de-recognized Maritime Training Institute namely “Chennai School of Ship management” with immediate effect. The institute is located at No.36, East Coast Road, Muttukkadu, Chennai.

 The Ministry has also permanently withdrawn all approvals to Elementary First Aid, Marine Engineers-Alternate Tr. Scheme, Medical First Aid, Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities courses in the institute.

The Ministry has cautioned aspiring students who wish to join the Merchant Navy not to take any admissions at Chennai School of Ship management, Chennai.  Any individual who takes admission for any of the courses above, may do so at their own risk and the courses and the certificate issued by Chennai School of Ship Management, Chennai shall not be valid for any jobs/career in Merchant Navy according to a press release issued by Mercantile Marine Department, Ministry of Shipping.
