RBI to shortly circulate Rs.10 coins to commemorate 150th Birth Anniversary year of Shrimad Rajchandra

The Reserve Bank of India will shortly put in circulation Rs.10 coins minted by the Government of India to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Shrimad Rajchandra. The coin has been released by the Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi.

 

The obverse of the coin shall bear the lion capitol of Ashoka pillar in the center with the legend सत्यमेव जयते inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word भारत in Devnagri script and on the right periphery by the word ‘INDIA’ in English. It shall bear the ₹ symbol and denomination value 10 in the international numerals below the lion capital.

The reverse face of the coin shall bear the portrait of “SHRIMAD RAJCHANDRA” in the Centre. The inscription श्रीमद राजचंद्रु and ‘150 वीं जयंती ’ shall be written on upper left and lower left periphery of the coin in Devanagiri script.

 

  The inscription “SHRIMAD RAJCHANDRA” and “150th Birth Anniversary” shall be written on the upper right and lower right periphery of the coin respectively.  The year “1867” and “1901” in international numerals shall be written on the left and right side of the portrait of Shrimad Rajchandra. 

 

These coins are legal tender as provided in the coinage act, 2011. The existing coins in this denomination will continue to be legal tender.
