Dak Chaupals: Bringing Government Services to Citizens

Dak Chaupals served as platforms for direct interaction between postal officials and citizens, facilitating awareness of postal and citizen-centric services, addressing public grievances and obtaining feedback to improve service delivery.

Activities included awareness and facilitation of Postal Life Insurance (PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI) schemes, promotion of accessible postal services and engagement with local communities. The resolution of   9,007 public grievances during the programme further reflects the Department’s commitment to responsive governance and timely redressal of citizens’ concerns.

Nationwide Cleanliness and Environmental Sustainability Drives

Special cleanliness drives were undertaken across post offices, including Branch Post Offices, mail offices and administrative establishments. Cleanliness activities covered 55,952 sites, contributing to cleaner surroundings and improved public spaces.

Postal Circles also undertook initiatives to promote environmental sustainability, including awareness campaigns on waste segregation, composting and responsible waste management. These activities encouraged community participation and reinforced the principles of Swachhata and environmental responsibility.

Infrastructure Improvement and Community Engagement

Postal establishments undertook initiatives to improve office infrastructure, enhance public-facing areas and ensure better utilisation of available space. Creative beautification, maintenance and other improvement activities contributed to cleaner and more welcoming postal establishments.

The dedicated one-day programme reflects the Department of Posts commitment to the objectives of Special Campaign 6, particularly institutionalising cleanliness, strengthening grievance redressal, improving citizen engagement and promoting sustainable practices.

The Department will continue to build on these initiatives to make postal establishments cleaner, more accessible and more responsive to citizens’ needs.
