In line with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the vibrant confluence of India’s diverse cultural heritage, traditional craftsmanship and indigenous entrepreneurship, The distinct Khadi and Village Industries Exhibition organized by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India was inaugurated by Shri Manoj Goel, Chairman, KVIC at Delhi Haat, I.N.A. The exhibition, which will be held till October 15, 2026 has a total of 115 stalls. Of these, 48 stalls belong to Khadi while the remaining stalls belong to entrepreneurs and artisans belonging to Gramodyog & PMEGP units. Artisans, Khadi institutions, village industries units and entrepreneurs from almost every part of the country have displayed their products here. The exhibition at Delhi Haat appears as a MINI INDIA of sorts. The inaugural function was attended by the CEO of KVIC, Joint Secretary (ARI) of the Ministry of MSME, Financial Advisor of KVIC, officers, employees, representatives of Khadi institutions and artisans.

On the occasion of the inauguration, Chief Guest, Chairman KVIC Shri Manoj Goel, said that KVIC has organized this exhibition to convey the call of the Swadeshi movement of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to the masses and Gen-Z. He added that Khadi and village industries are not just a medium for selling products but transmit a story of hard work and self-reliance of millions of artisans, weavers and rural entrepreneurs of the country. The exhibition, held at Delhi Haat, presents the same vibrant tradition of different parts of the country on one platform. He said that marketing local products and providing quality indigenous alternatives to consumers is important for comprehensive expansion of Khadi and village industries. He appealed to Delhiites and tourists visiting Delhi to visit the exhibition of Delhi Haat, see the products of Indian artisans and rural entrepreneurs and give priority to indigenous products in their purchases.

Chairman KVIC Shri Goel said that Khadi and village industries are not just a medium of selling products but inherit a saga of hard work, skill and self-reliance of millions of artisans, weavers and rural entrepreneurs. “The Modi government is not only preparing a whole ecosystem of employment by connecting the youth with not just employment but also skills, entrepreneurship, finance and markets. Khadi and Village Industries are becoming strong medium of new opportunities for rural youth in this direction,” he said.

The speciality of the exhibition is that specific Khadi, textile and village industry products of different geographical regions of India can be seen and purchased at one place. Participants from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala in South India have arrived with special Khadi and silk products. The silk products of Karnataka, the traditional weaving and silk of Tamil Nadu, the kalamkari products of Andhra Pradesh, the Ikkat tradition of Telangana and the traditional textile craft style of Kerala are attracting visitors here. From East India, the fine muslin and handloom tradition of West Bengal, silk and tusser products of Bihar and traditional weaving and ikat crafts of Odisha can be seen. Attractive products made of Khadi as well as bamboo and natural materials from Northeast India are major attraction of the exhibition. Traditional silk products of Assam as well as handicraft and bamboo craft products of the Northeast are also presented here.

A large number of participants have also arrived from North and West India with their distinctive products. Traditional textile and handicraft traditions of Gujarat, colorful handicrafts and traditional prints of Rajasthan, woolen products of Himachal Pradesh, traditional weaving and handicrafts of Uttar Pradesh, rural products of Haryana and natural and tribal crafts of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh are being displayed here. Additionally, participants from other states of the country have also arrived with Khadi textiles, silks, handicrafts, natural products, food processed materials, herbal products and village industry products associated with the traditional identity of their respective regions.


During an interaction with the media, Chairman KVIC Shri Manoj Goel said that as a result of the visionary thinking and policies of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Khadi and Village Industries sector has also made unprecedented progress. The turnover of the Khadi and Village Industries sector stood at over Rs 1.87 lakh crore in the financial year 2025-26, while more than 2.04 crore people are getting employment through this sector. He expressed confidence that the sector will also achieve the turnover target of Rs 2.51 lakh crore in the coming time.
