The Scholarship for Education Transformation and Upliftment (SETU) National Scholarship Portal (NSP) App, a dedicated mobile application, is providing all information and guidance aimed at making scholarship-related services more accessible, convenient and student-friendly for eligible beneficiaries of the Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarships for Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes, under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.

A Senior Ministry Official said the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment (DoSJE), Government of India, has already launched the App in April this year, by the Ministry.  He said the SETU NSP App has been developed as a simple, secure and transparent digital platform to provide students with convenient access to a range of scholarship services through a single interface.

The Official said the application is designed to reduce procedural difficulties and facilitate students in completing various scholarship-related activities without having to navigate through multiple platforms. He said through the SETU NSP App, eligible students can register for scholarship schemes, complete biometric authentication, submit scholarship applications and track the status of their applications. The application also provides access to user guides and support services, enabling students to obtain relevant information and assistance during the scholarship application process.

The Official further said the application also provides digital services for key stakeholders involved in scholarship administration, including Institutional Nodal Officers (INOs), District Nodal Officers (DNOs) and State Nodal Officers (SNOs). These functionalities are intended to support the effective processing, monitoring and management of scholarship applications at different levels, thereby strengthening the overall scholarship delivery mechanism.

It is pertinent to mention that the introduction of the SETU NSP App is part of the Department's continuing efforts to leverage digital technology and citizen-centric solutions for improving public service delivery. By providing essential scholarship services through a mobile application, the initiative seeks to make the process more convenient for students and improve access to information and application-related services. The availability of services through a mobile platform will enable students to access important information, complete required processes and monitor their applications more conveniently.

The SETU NSP App also reinforces the Department's focus on transparency, accessibility and efficiency in the administration of scholarship schemes. Digital access to application and tracking services can help students remain informed about the progress of their applications and access relevant guidance whenever required.

The Department continues to undertake measures aimed at simplifying processes and strengthening the delivery of welfare and scholarship benefits through technology-enabled solutions. The launch of the SETU NSP App represents another step towards creating a more accessible, efficient, transparent and student-centric scholarship ecosystem.
