Department of Food and Public Distribution Strengthens Preparations for Special Campaign 6
DFPD Focuses on Cleanliness, Disposal of Pending Matters and E-Waste Management Ahead of Special Campaign 6

The Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD), along with its subordinate/attached offices and PSUs, has started preparations for the Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters 6 (SCDPM 6).
This year, special focus is being given to the collection, segregation and disposal of e-waste, along with cleanliness, disposal of pending matters and better use of office space.
The preparatory phase is being undertaken from 15 September to 30 September 2026. During this period, DFPD and its attached/subordinate offices and PSUs, including Food Corporation of India (FCI), Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) and Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA), are reviewing physical and electronic files, identifying e-waste, scrap and unserviceable items, and taking necessary steps for their proper disposal. The initiative aims to promote responsible waste management practices.




Key Targets
As part of the preparatory phase, the following targets have been identified up to 28 September 2026:
- 947 sites identified for intensive cleanliness drives at offices, depots and warehouses.
- 22,635 sq. ft. of space identified for freeing up through disposal of clutter and obsolete materials.
- 3,660 physical files identified for review and weeding out as per record retention rules.
- 3,534 e-files identified for closure to strengthen digital record management.
- 439 e-waste items identified for collection, segregation and disposal.
The Department is holding regular review meetings with nodal officers and senior officials to monitor the progress of the campaign. The activities include cleanliness drives, disposal of pending matters, freeing up of space, record management and proper disposal of e-waste.
The Department of Food and Public Distribution is closely monitoring the preparatory activities for effective implementation of Special Campaign 6 from 2 October to 31 October 2026.
Through Special Campaign 6, DFPD and its attached/subordinate offices and PSUs aim to promote cleaner and better-organised workplaces, reduce pendency, strengthen record management, optimise available space and ensure responsible management of e-waste.
