The Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (DAHD), Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India, today launched the Livestock Insurance Portal (https://rashtriyapashubima.dahd.gov.in), a comprehensive digital platform aimed at transforming livestock insurance delivery across the country under the Livestock Insurance activity of National Livestock Mission (NLM).

The Portal was launched by Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, Hon'ble Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, in presence of Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, Hon'ble Minister of State of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Shri Naresh Pal Gangwar, Secretary, Animal Husbandry and Dairyingand other senior officials of the Department, representatives of State Governments, insurance companies and sectoral stakeholders. Besides, more than 4,000 participants joined online.

While highlighting the contours of scheme, premium rates, contribution of the farmer & other aspects of scheme on the Livestock Insurance activity, Shri Naresh Pal Gangwar, Secretary (AHD) informed that more than 30 lakh animals have already been insured during the year.

Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, Hon'ble Minister of State of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying expressed concern over uncertainty of agriculture and expressed hope that the livestock insurance portal will be a great relief to the farmers.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, Hon'ble Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, highlighted that livestock serves as a critical source of income and livelihood for millions of rural households. He emphasized that timely and affordable insurance protection safeguards farmers against financial losses arising from mortality, disease outbreaks, accidents, natural calamities and other unforeseen risks. He stressed upon the measures for awareness programmes for the farmers, to provide them maximum benefit under the scheme. He also urged the Insurance Companies, State Governments and other stakeholders to give wider publicity to the scheme through their respective social media and IEC campaigns.

The newly launched Livestock Insurance Portal provides an end-to-end digital ecosystem for policy issuance, premium management, claim processing, beneficiary verification and real-time monitoring. The platform brings together farmers, State Governments, Insurance Companies and implementing agencies on a single transparent and technology-enabled interface.

The Portal is expected to:

• simplify and expedite livestock insurance enrolment
• enhance transparency and accountability in claim settlement
• enable real-time tracking and monitoring of policies
• improve accessibility and ease of doing business for farmers and insurance providers
• strengthen data-driven decision-making for effective scheme implementation.

The initiative marks a significant step towards digital transformation in the livestock sector and supports the Government's vision of leveraging technology for farmer welfare and rural prosperity.
