Union Minister for Coal and Mines Shri G. Kishan Reddy called upon the youth to play a key role in achieving Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of transforming India into a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Shri G. Kishan Reddy inaugurated the 20th Rozgar Mela organised by the Income Tax Department at Madhapur, Hyderabad, on Saturday. He distributed appointment letters to 360 newly selected candidates for various posts in different Central Government organisations.

The Government of India organised the 20th Rozgar Mela at 45 locations across the country to distribute appointment letters to more than 51,000 candidates. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the programme through video conferencing.

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the Rozgar Mela in Hyderabad, Shri Kishan Reddy said that through 20 editions of the Rozgar Mela, the Central Government has provided employment opportunities in government services to nearly 13 lakh youth across the country.

He said that while the Government is providing employment opportunities in the public sector, it is also promoting the creation of jobs in various other sectors. In this regard, India has emerged as a destination for investments and is among the leading countries in the world in terms of the number of startups, he added.

The Union Minister urged the youth not to remain merely job seekers but to think as job creators. He said that the Central Government has undertaken several initiatives in this direction.

He particularly highlighted Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, semiconductors, cyber security, drone technology, 3D printing and green energy as sectors that have the potential to generate large-scale employment opportunities in the future. He encouraged the youth to focus on these emerging areas.

Shri Kishan Reddy said that India has immense opportunities in terms of skilled and talented human resources as well as startups. He urged the youth to utilise these opportunities to attract more investments and industries into the country and create greater employment opportunities.

Addressing the newly selected candidates, Shri Kishan Reddy urged them to work with commitment and a sense of responsibility towards achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat.

He advised them not to stop learning new things even after securing government employment and encouraged them to continuously acquire knowledge of advanced technologies and develop new skills.

He said that a government job is not merely about job security, but also carries the responsibility of serving the people. He urged the newly appointed employees not to forget their parents who worked hard for them, their native places and the schools where they studied, even after joining government service. He called upon them to work towards the welfare of the poor and the development of the nation.

Shri Suresh Bathini, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh; Shri Rajarshi Dwivedi, DG (Investigation), Income Tax Department; Smt. Sunita Bella, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Hyderabad, and other officials were present on the occasion.
