CBC, MGAHV Join Hands to Celebrate Hindi Diwas and Poshan Maah
Competitions, cultural programmes and expert insights highlight the importance of nurturing Hindi and promoting nutritional awareness

The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Nagpur, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, in collaboration with the Rajbhasha Department of Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University (MGAHV), Wardha, organised a joint programme on Hindi Diwas and Poshan Maah at the Ghalib Auditorium on September 15, 2026. The programme featured the prize distribution ceremony for Hindi typing, essay writing, rangoli and poster competitions, besides a cultural presentation on nutrition awareness by the PRT Troupe of CBC’s Song and Drama Division.
Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest, Senior Editor Shri Anand Nirban said that Hindi is like a mother that connects relationships and that nurturing the language is a collective responsibility. He highlighted the inclusive nature of Hindi, which has absorbed words from several languages. Recalling the region’s contribution to the promotion of Hindi, he also spoke about the contribution of Marathi-speaking people and Nagpur’s association with the first World Hindi Conference held in 1975.
Prof. Kumud Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, MGAHV, who chaired the programme, said that languages remain alive through their cultural symbols and traditions. She emphasised that the younger generation should preserve the core nature of Hindi while allowing the language to grow with changing times. Shri Rajesh Yadav, Hindi Officer, MGAHV, was also present on the occasion. The speakers also highlighted the contribution of journalism and media to the growth of Hindi and the creation of employment opportunities in Hindi and other Indian languages.
Winners of the Hindi typing, essay writing, rangoli and poster competitions in student and employee categories were felicitated with prizes and certificates. CBC Nagpur Publicity Assistant Shri Shubham Gudadhe delivered the welcome address and introductory remarks, while Shri B. S. Mirge, PRO, MGAHV, conducted the programme and Registrar Shri Kadar Nawaz Khan proposed the vote of thanks. The PRT artists of CBC’s Song and Drama Division presented a cultural programme carrying messages on nutrition and healthy living. Faculty members, officers, employees, research scholars and students attended the programme in large numbers.
