Hon’ble Minister of State for the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, will inaugurate the Technology Centre at Devanahalli, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on 10 September 2026. The inauguration ceremony will be graced by Shri Krishna Byre Gowda, Minister for Greater Bengaluru Development and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Karnataka, and Shri Vijayanand Kashappanavar, Minister of Small Scale Industries & Public Enterprises, Government of Karnataka, along with senior officers of the Ministry of MSME and the Government of Karnataka, representatives from industry and other local stakeholders. The inauguration ceremony will also feature an exhibition showcasing the contribution of Indian MSMEs to the Aerospace & ESDM Sectors.

 

The network of Technology Centres-         

To foster an enabling environment for MSMEs and enhance their technological capabilities and competitiveness, the Ministry of MSME operates a nation-wide network of Technology Centres (TCs).Over the years, these Centres have contributed significantly in technology development, industry-grade training, design, prototyping, testing & production support to MSMEs.
They are also contributing to the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat by building indigenous capabilities and advancing the initiative. Beyond supporting MSMEs, they contribute to national goals of technological self-reliance and sustainable industrial growth and globally competitive manufacturing ecosystem.     

Salient Features of Technology Centre (TC), Bengaluru

• The TC Bengaluru has been developed by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India with an investment of ₹156 crore on a 10-acre land parcel provided by the Government of Karnataka. The TC features modern infrastructure, including a Training Block, Production Block, Administrative Block, residential facilities for boys and girls, staff accommodation, an executive hostel, and other supporting facilities.

• Focus Sector of the centre is Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM). The Centre being equipped with state‑of‑the‑art machines and labs, will provide MSMEs access to advanced technologies such as Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) Line, additive manufacturing, CNC 5‑Axis and 3‑Axis machines, Electric Discharge Machine (EDM), etc. It will also offer comprehensive support through testing laboratories, design assistance, and business & technical advisory services to enhance MSMEs/Industry technological capabilities, productivity, and competitiveness.

• The Centre catchment area has a strong ecosystem of leading industries and institutions such as Mitsubishi Electric India, Texas Instruments, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), National Aerospace Laboratories, (NAL), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Airbus, Boeing, Philips, Wipro, GE, Centum Electronics etc., and numerous MSMEs engaged in aerospace, defence, semiconductor design, industrial automation, and advanced electronics manufacturing.
• The Centre will also contribute towards skilling youth by providing industry grade training in the area of embedded system design, PCB Design and Assembly, automation & robotics, maintenance and repair, etc. TC is equipped to train 10,000 trainees every year.
• The Technology Centre, Bengaluru is envisaged as a key institution for strengthening the MSME ecosystem in electronics and aerospace sectors through advanced design, prototyping, production, training, and consultancy services. The Centre is also expected to make a substantial contribution towards creating employment opportunities and promoting sustainable livelihoods in Karnataka.
